Village of Anjarle - Temple

Anjarle temple
Anjarle is a small village nesting in the coastal flat strip of land popularly known as Konkan that lies between the Arabian Sea and the western hills of Maharashtra. Nature has blessed this terrain with abundance of its virgin beauty. The tropical forest keeps the hills lush green throughout the year. Rivers flow down the slopes providing for natural irrigation and navigation needs of the land and the people. Orchards overflowing with Alfonzo mangoes, coconuts, People are poor but healthy, simple, honest and God fearing. Traditions still rule. Local deity is superior to any Almighty God, and the village court enjoys limitless authority.

Lord Ganesh's Hill Temple on top of the cliff overlooks everything within and around Anjarle; the ocean going liners as they sail south from Mumbai, the fishermen in their small sail boats lingering closer to the coast, and the natives working hard in the paddy fields inland. Like any simpleton country folks, most Anjarlites believe that the Lord watches for their wellbeing.
